When a storm tears through Cosmos and shingles start peeling off the roofline, you need a crew that picks up the phone and shows up — not a call center that puts you on hold.
Roof Repair Smedway didn't start as a franchise looking for a market to plant a sign in. Our crews trained on real tear-offs, real ridge vents, and real attic inspections in Cosmos, MN before we ever put a truck on the road under this name.
Ask any Roof Repair Smedway crew lead for a copy of our license and certificate of insurance and they'll hand it over before you even finish the sentence — that's standard practice here, not a special favor.
We've seen what happens when a roof gets "good enough" instead of done right — the drywall stains, the mold behind the insulation, the second call nobody wanted to make. Our Commercial Roofing teams build to avoid that call entirely.
Bonded, insured, and ready to show proof on the spot.
A tarp-down call at 2 a.m. gets the same urgency as one at 2 p.m.
No surprise charges once the crew is already on your roof.
Faster arrival times because the truck was already nearby.
A roof rarely fails all at once. It sends smaller signals first, and catching them early is almost always cheaper than waiting for the emergency call.
Heavy granule loss is one of the earliest visible clues that a roof is approaching the end of its service life.
Once a shingle starts warping, it's no longer sealing properly against wind-driven rain.
Visible light through the roof deck is a direct sign the barrier between your attic and the weather has been compromised.
Ceiling stains tend to grow slowly, which is exactly why they're often ignored until the damage spreads.
Poor roof ventilation or compromised insulation from a slow leak can quietly push cooling costs up month over month.
A visible bare patch after a windstorm means the roof's weather barrier has a direct gap that needs covering immediately.
We break our work into distinct service lanes because a wind-lifted ridge cap and a full tear-off need completely different crews, materials, and timelines.
When high wind or hail peels back a section of roofing, our on-call crew tarps the exposed area to stop active water intrusion before it reaches the decking, then schedules the permanent repair.
Residential work covers shingle repair, full re-roofs, ridge and soffit ventilation upgrades, and skylight flashing — whatever the house actually needs.
Flat and low-slope commercial roofs get scheduled inspections in addition to repair calls, catching ponding-water issues before they become structural.
Old, layered shingle systems often need a full tear-off rather than an overlay, and we'll tell you honestly which one your roof actually needs.
Post-storm inspections give homeowners a documented record for insurance purposes, whether or not a claim is ultimately filed.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general handyman work often gets wrong — our crews treat them as their own scope.
A dispatcher takes down your address, roof type, and the issue, then routes it to the nearest available crew in Cosmos, MN.
A technician walks the roof, checks the attic side when accessible, and documents the damage with photos.
Financing and insurance-claim assistance are discussed at this stage if applicable.
A final walkthrough confirms the repair or install meets the agreed scope before the invoice is closed out.
Because our teams are already local, we're rarely the company still driving in from three counties away.
Every job gets a written estimate before a single nail is pulled, so there's no surprise number waiting at the end.
Certifications are kept current so warranty coverage on materials stays valid when we install them.
Every repair and install comes with a workmanship warranty separate from the manufacturer's material warranty.
Storm-damage jobs come with photo documentation formatted for insurance adjusters, saving homeowners a step in the claims process.
If a repair is all your roof needs, we'll say so — we don't push a full replacement to inflate the invoice.
A verbal promise doesn't hold up when you need it — that's why our guarantee is documented, dated, and handed to you at project close.
Material substitutions or unexpected decking damage found mid-job are always discussed with you first — we don't add line items after the fact and hope you don't notice.
Our Cosmos coverage area extends across Cosmos, MN, and if your address falls just outside the standard zone, dispatch can usually still arrange a visit.
If a storm system moves through Cosmos, MN and call volume spikes, we prioritize active leaks first and communicate realistic wait times for everything else rather than leaving people guessing.
